Non-Western origin in total: 653,233, of whom 466,809 immigrants and 186,424 descendants. MENAPT is the Ministry of Immigration and Integration’s group for the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Turkey: 28 countries and areas. The largest groups are Turkey (68,235) and Syria (46,303). There is no ready-made MENAPT table in StatBank; the figure is our sum of FOLK1C using the ministry’s list.

Among persons of Danish origin it is 26%, among Western immigrants 15%.

The denominator is everyone aged 16–67 in each group. Statistics Denmark counts full-time equivalents and includes student grants (SU); that lifts the Danish-origin figure most, where SU is the largest benefit (28%). Among non-Western immigrants on support, 37% are on disability pension. At age 60–67 the share is 62% against 34% for Danish origin.

Male immigrants from Somalia are at 6.2 times.

The figure is Statistics Denmark’s crime index for violent offences for men aged 15–79, where all men = 100. Descendants from Syria have an index of 676, immigrants from Somalia 622. The index is standardised for age, so a young age profile is taken out. It is a relative measure: among all men, 0.2% were convicted of violence in 2024.

The count is the Director of Public Prosecutions’ answer to the Ministry of Justice on a question from Mai Mercado (Conservatives), reported by DR and Berlingske in October 2025. Of the 213 convicted, 117 were descendants and 36 immigrants from non-Western countries; 54 were of Danish origin, 6 unknown. The paragraph allows up to double punishment when an offence can provoke conflict between groups.

The children are below the age of criminal responsibility and cannot be charged, but the police register them as suspects. The figures are a special extract Statistics Denmark made for Berlingske. The number of suspected children rose from 192 to 549; one child can appear in several cases. In 35% of the cases the children have a non-Western background, while they make up about 12% of all 10–14-year-olds.

The figure is all permits in Statistics Denmark’s VAN66, summed over nationality and ground: work, study, family, asylum, EU/EEA and the Ukraine special act. 13,703 of the 2025 permits were granted under the Ukraine special act; without them the figure is 86,821. The peak was 126,854 in 2022, the first year of the special act.

The figure covers all nationalities under the Repatriation Act, compiled by the Danish Refugee Council from municipal and Return Agency reports. The ministry says refugees and family-reunified persons can receive up to about 250,000 kr. in support. The year before, 2024, the figure was 304. For comparison, 466,809 non-Western immigrants lived in Denmark on 1 January 2026.

Children of descendants are the group called the third generation in the debate. When one or both parents born in Denmark become Danish citizens, Statistics Denmark registers the child as a person of Danish origin. The child then disappears from the immigrant and descendant figures. Only 3,551 are still registered as descendants (grey line).
