Who they were
Wilma had moved to Uddevalla to study. Her mother, Linda, describes her as "a loving, caring, kind, funny and creative girl with a big heart". Her stepmother says she was "a dream of a big sister" who built dens with her little brother, comforted him when he was sad, and was gentle and skilled with the horses on the farm.
What happened
On Thursday 14 November 2019, Wilma disappeared in Uddevalla; according to her family she had only gone to collect her belongings from a former boyfriend. Thousands joined the search. The ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder and of desecrating her body. The district court gave him life; the Court of Appeal reduced it to 18 years. Her body has never been found.
