Who they were
Wayne worked for Greener Ealing, the council-owned waste and environmental services company, keeping the streets clean. His family described him as "a devoted and hardworking man who spent his life serving his community", with a "gentle heart". They said he will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty and his genuine willingness to help others.
What happened
On the afternoon of Monday 27 October 2025, Wayne was walking his dog in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge, when he was attacked by a man he did not know. He died at the scene. The same man had shortly before stabbed his landlord and injured a teenage boy. In July 2026 the attacker pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility and was convicted of the attempted murder of his landlord; sentencing is set for 5 October 2026.
