Thierry was one of the two men killed in Romans-sur-Isère.
What happened
On Saturday 4 April 2020, in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown, a man attacked passers-by with a knife in the centre of Romans-sur-Isère. Two people were killed and five injured; Thierry was one of those killed. On 7 November 2025 the special assize court in Paris sentenced the attacker to 30 years' imprisonment and a permanent ban from France; he did not appeal.

Perpetrator: A 33-year-old Sudanese man who had been granted refugee status in France in 2017 (Le Monde, franceinfo).
