Who they were
Mirweis came to Norway from Afghanistan as an unaccompanied minor refugee in 2015. He lived for two years in Modum, where he made many friends; Eivind Kopland, who knew him, called him "an incredibly kind boy", and he was described as someone who spread joy. His family lives in Afghanistan, and friends raised money to send his coffin home so they could say goodbye. A memorial was held for him in Åmot church.
What happened
On Saturday 19 October 2024, Mirweis was robbed and stabbed in Storgata in central Oslo. He managed to point police towards the attackers before collapsing, and died in hospital about an hour later. In May 2026 Oslo District Court sentenced a 30-year-old man to 14 years in prison for the killing and a 21-year-old to three years for aggravated robbery resulting in death.

Oslo tingrett, 13 May 2026: 30-year-old – 14 years for murder (drap) + NOK 400,000 to the family; 21-year-old – 3 years for aggravated robbery resulting in death.
Perpetrator: Two men, both foreign nationals from Iran and Syria with Norwegian residence permits (Nettavisen/Avisa Oslo).
