Died 3 June 2017

Who they were

Kirsty, from Loxton in South Australia, was a nurse at Guy's Hospital and lived in Hampstead with her partner James. Hearing a crash, she ran to help and knelt beside a wounded waiter. She became known as the "angel of London Bridge" and received posthumous bravery awards from the Queen and the Australian government. "She loved people and lived her life helping others," James said.

What happened

She was killed while trying to help a wounded man. On the evening of Saturday 3 June 2017, three men drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and then attacked people with knives around Borough Market. Eight people were killed and many injured. Police shot the attackers within ten minutes, so there was no trial; inquests in 2019 found the victims had been unlawfully killed.
