What happened
On 9 December 2015, Fathi was stabbed at Grønland in Oslo, shortly after the same man had killed Catrine Røthe at Manglerud. Fathi died of his injuries. At the trial in November 2016, court-appointed psychiatrists concluded that the attacker had been psychotic and legally insane.
Verdict / confirmation
Oslo tingrett, Nov 2016: court-appointed experts found him psychotic and not criminally responsible; the prosecution sought transfer to compulsory mental health care (NTB/Dagbladet).
Perpetrator: A 55-year-old Tunisian, Catrine Røthe's former partner, who had previously been expelled from Norway (Aftenposten, Dagbladet).
