Who they were

Chrissy, from Canada, was a social worker who had worked in a shelter for people with addictions. She had recently become engaged to Tyler and moved to the Netherlands, where the couple were learning Dutch and planning their wedding. Her father said: "Chrissy was not the sunshine. Chrissy was the moon … quiet and silvery but lighting a path for you to follow."

What happened

She was struck by the van on London Bridge and died in her fiancé's arms. On the evening of Saturday 3 June 2017, three men drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and then attacked people with knives around Borough Market. Eight people were killed and many injured. Police shot the attackers within ten minutes, so there was no trial; inquests in 2019 found the victims had been unlawfully killed.
