Christian was 44 and an asylum seeker from Congo. He lived at Lundeskogen reception centre; Aftenposten described him as an educated man and a choir conductor.
What happened
On Sunday 16 February 2003, Christian was killed at Lundeskogen reception centre in Vestre Slidre by a fellow resident. The same day the attacker stabbed bus driver Audun Bøland to death on the Valdresekspressen. The court found the attacker legally insane and sentenced him to compulsory psychiatric care, most recently extended in 2024.
