What happened
On 9 December 2015, Catrine was stabbed to death at Manglerud in Oslo by her former partner. Shortly afterwards he stabbed Fathi Rzaiguia at Grønland and then went to a psychiatric centre, where he said he had killed two people. At the trial in November 2016, court-appointed psychiatrists concluded that he had been psychotic and legally insane.

Oslo tingrett, Nov 2016: court-appointed experts found him psychotic and not criminally responsible; the prosecution sought transfer to compulsory mental health care (NTB/Dagbladet).
Perpetrator: A 55-year-old Tunisian, Catrine Røthe's former partner, who had previously been expelled from Norway (Aftenposten, Dagbladet).
