Cathrine lived in Kongsvinger and was only 34. The sources say little about her life; she is remembered by her family and her town, where the case remains open more than 20 years later.
What happened
In December 2003 Cathrine was found strangled in her own flat in Kongsvinger. DNA traces at the scene linked an Iraqi asylum seeker to the killing. He was charged but had left Norway shortly afterwards and has been internationally wanted ever since. No one has been convicted.
