Baptiste was 19 and the third of four siblings. He came from Mouchin near Lille. His family organised a silent march in his hometown to remember him. Little has been published about his daily life; he is remembered first by those who loved him.
What happened
On Saturday 15 September 2018, Baptiste was stabbed repeatedly during an argument outside a building in Lomme, where he was staying with his girlfriend. He died of his injuries. A Sudanese political refugee was sentenced in March 2023 to 18 years in prison for the murder (Nord assize court).
