Finnish Speaker: Significant Intrusions Into MPs’ Homes — First May Be a Year Old
Halla-aho and Risikko said on 1 October that a significant number of suspected home intrusions against MPs are under investigation; President Stubb called it an attack on democracy.

Finland’s parliament speaker says MPs’ homes have been entered — a “significant number” of suspected intrusions, with the first possibly a year old. Jussi Halla-aho and vice-speaker Paula Risikko held a press conference on 1 October 2026 after Ilta-Sanomat broke the story.
Helsinki police are investigating with the National Bureau of Investigation. Halla-aho said nothing was stolen or destroyed; signs may have been left deliberately. Party groups had earlier been warned of a possible foreign-state link. President Alexander Stubb called an attack on MPs an attack on democracy.
Suspicion, not a named spy novel
Yle’s live file stresses what is unknown: who, exact count, which MPs. Locked facts are the speakers’ statements, the police probe, the timeline hint, the earlier warning and Stubb’s line. @weimers flagged the Yle link for Swedish readers as a reason for Nordic vigilance.
Det handlar om en betydande mängd intrång. Det första kan ha skett för omkring ett år sedan.
“It concerns a significant number of intrusions. The first may have occurred about a year ago.”

Democracies and quiet doors
Intrusions without theft are a classic intelligence signature — and also a classic false lead. This Signal does not pick a culprit. It records that Finland’s parliamentary leadership put the pattern on the record.
