An 18-Year-Old Charged Over Sexual Offences at Tingvoll Asylum Reception

Tingvoll asylum reception grounds from Helene Tveiten’s post on the charges

An 18-year-old man is charged in Nordmøre og Romsdal District Court over alleged sexual offences against two women at Tingvoll asylum reception.

According to @HeleneTveit1, posting on 2 September 2026:

«Hendelsene skal ha skjedd på et asylmottak på Nordmøre en sommerdag i fjor. Nå må en 18 år gammel mann svare for alvorlige anklager i tingretten, etter at han ifølge politiet trengte seg inn på rommene til to ulike kvinner.»

“The events are said to have taken place at an asylum reception on Nordmøre on a summer day last year. Now an 18-year-old man must answer serious charges in the district court, after he, according to police, forced his way into the rooms of two different women.”

Her wording matches the lede on np.no, published 31 August 2026 under the headline that an 18-year-old is charged for violence and sexual offences at Tingvoll asylmottak. The paper places the alleged events on Nordmøre a summer day the previous year, and repeats the police account that he forced his way into two women’s rooms.

Tidens Krav, 1 September 2026, is more specific on the legal labels. Over a short period in summer 2025, the paper reports, the young man is alleged to have subjected two female residents at Tingvoll asylmottak to, respectively, a sexual act (*seksuell handling*) and a sexual violation (*seksuell krenkelse*). The case sits in Nordmøre og Romsdal tingrett.

I have not opened a charge sheet that names nationality or ethnicity of the accused. The local papers, in the copy I have, call him an 18-year-old man and a young man. I leave it there.

A reception centre is a house the state pays for when someone asks for asylum. Two rooms. Two women. A charge sheet that now has to be heard in open court. The post is the tip. The court is where the words become evidence or do not.

Is this accurate — or do I have a detail wrong?
