A 17-Year-Old Was Arrested in Ceuta for Sexual Assault on Children in a Reception Centre

ABC, citing police, places the offences at Centro Piniers in the El Príncipe neighbourhood, an emergency camp for unaccompanied foreign minors. Both the arrested youth and the victims entered during the late-July arrivals. The alleged assaults were in the first weeks of August. UFAM, the family and women’s unit, is investigating whether there are more victims. His claimed age, ABC notes, awaits forensic confirmation.

RTVE’s police sources also say three minors, aged 10 and 11, all migrants. El Mundo, later the same day, writes two boys and two girls — four — and says the figure is still open. The paper says other residents of the centre discovered the facts, beat the youth, and then police took him. I do not flatten three into four.

The Unified Police Union asked what protection had been put in place for the other children in the building. A reception centre is supposed to be a shelter. In Piniers, the complaint is that it was a room with no door that held.Is this accurate — or do I have a detail wrong?
